Measuring devices and tools are indispensable aids in the installation and maintenance of networks. Network testers and cable testers for copper and fibre optic cables ensure fast and reliable fault diagnosis. WLAN testers help to optimise the WLAN signal. Various tool sets and stripping tools facilitate the assembly of network components and cables. Hoovers and air pressure cleaners can be used to remove dust and dirt from enclosures and fans. Crimping pliers and wiring tools are indispensable for crimping connectors and connecting cables. With this range of tools you can set up and maintain networks professionally.

Network test equipment

Current networks in TwistedPair (copper) or LWL (fibre optic) technology are easy to install, but must be tested for function and interference immunity before commissioning. For this purpose, measuring devices in ascending complexity are offered for the different test types.

CAT cable tester

For the widely used type of data cable in the network, one starts with simple cable testers that only indicate the continuity of the cable by means of pairs of LEDs and the correct polarity. They usually consist of the controlling test device itself, as well as an end piece between which the test object is simply plugged into the RJ45 sockets of the testers. The test provides information about the cable continuity, the shielding and the wiring. For the measurement of installed cable routes, two short, previously checked patch cables are added to the socket ends. In this way, the entire section can be tested via the measuring device, the patch cables and the already installed cable in one process. If the test object is correctly wired, the LED pairs light up in the correct sequence. Different LED signals can indicate incorrect wiring here and point to the corresponding wire. If higher-value statements are to be made about the cable connection, such as the wire length, twisted or split pairs, higher-value measuring devices can be accessed. The correct functionality can also be checked for Power over Ethernet tests.

Fibre optic cable tester

Fibre optic cables as long-distance cable connections are more sensitive to mechanical damage and must be checked carefully before being put into operation. The cables must not be bent or kinked too much. The fibre ends must sit in their sockets without dirt or too much play. To ensure these properties, special measuring devices are used that already have adaptations for the various plug connections. The connection is made by simply plugging in the adapters and can simulate the various applications by applying different types of laser light. Thus, statements can be made about the quality of the installed cable. If the light signal strength is low, the attenuation caused by soiling on the fibre ends can be improved by using special cleaning sets.
