Der VGA-EDID-Emulator 2A-130G wurde für Installationen mit ATEN-KVM-Verlängerungen oder –Grafik-Splittern entwickelt, bei denen kein lokaler Monitor am Standort des Computers bzw. der Signalquelle vorhanden ist. Dabei emuliert und speichert der 2A-130G die Standard-EDID-Einstellungen (Extended Display Identification Information) von ATEN in einem nicht-flüchtigen Speicher. So kann der Computer bzw. kann die Signalquelle einen Bildschirm "sehen", obwohl gar keiner angeschlossen ist.
Der 2A-130G ist für alle Installationen mit KVM- oder Grafik-Verlängerungen von ATEN geeignet, bei denen auf lokaler Ebene kein Monitor benötigt wird und stellt somit eine einfache, kostengünstige Lösung dar, wenn es darum geht, Boot-Probleme aufgrund des fehlenden Bildschirms zu vermeiden.
