Der DMC-G10SC ist ein Medienkonverter, der eine 100/1000Base-T Gigabit-Ethernet-Verbindung über Twisted-Pair in eine 1000Base-LX Gigabit-Ethernet-Verbindung über Singlemode-Glasfaser umwandeln soll, wodurch die Verbindungsentfernung (bis zu 10 km) zwischen zwei Geräten erweitert werden kann. Dieser Medienkonverter ist mit einem RJ-45-Anschluss für Twisted-Pair und einem SC-Anschluss für Glasfaser ausgestattet.
